I'm usually not one to write reviews on toys regardless of how great or how meh I feel they are; however, this toy was so bad that I felt like I had to warn others to not bother.
Real leather should not flake like this. On first use, it was like a black snowstorm had hit my bed. I went through three sheets of my lint roller to try to get the flakes off (bed sheets currently in the washer as I type this review because... gross).
I should have done my due diligence to look for a high-quality flogger from the get-go. There's no way that at this price point, you're getting anything decent. Find your way to reddit to do some research on good places that specialize in high-quality leather goods. (To be clear, I've bought tons of toys from Peepshow Toys over the years, so this review isn't about this store; my review is solely about this Rouge flogger.)
Given the bad flaking, I tried to hand-wash the flogger to get it all out. And ooh boy, let me tell you, this thing is the Mary Poppins bag of eternal flakes. For a good solid 10 minutes, the flakes and black dye just wouldn't stop washing out. And even after 10 minutes, it hadn't let up, so I just straight up quit trying.
Now, I expected some level of dye to wash out; however, this was next-level nasty. When I attempted to condition it, the dye and flakes just got worse! You can see the flakes in the provided photo; that's from just a couple smacks against my bathtub.
There is simply no way that this toy is usable if you care at all about the cleanliness of your play space. But if you want to be covered by whatever crap Rouge decided to use to treat their leather, then by all means, go ahead and waste your money.
