8 Kinds of Sex Toys for Even Better Nipple Play

Looking to up your foreplay game? In search of the elusive nipplegasm? Just interested in exploring nipple play beyond what your mouth and fingers can do? Regardless of motivation, this list is for you.

Everyone’s body is different. Some nipples are small and sensitive, some are large and take firmer stimulation to feel; some get firm when they’re played with, others remain soft; some like to be twisted and tugged, some need a gentler touch… No matter what you and/or your partner(s) prefer, there are plenty of toys to tease and titillate.

Here’s 8 suggestions:

  1. Pumps

Pumps create a vacuum of air that sucks and (temporarily) plumps the nipples, clitoris, or penis enclosed in its cylinder or cup. It can be a pretty intense sensation, so make sure you’re either adequately warmed-up, or you prefer your nipple stim strong!

Pumps designed for nipples usually have narrower cylinders to concentrate the suction on the nipples themselves. Pumps can heighten sensitivity because they encourage greater blood flow to the area (which is how penis pumps can help create erections.)

Pumps like the Temptasia Nipple Pump System or Nipple Squeeze Pump System offer simultaneous pumping of both nipples. When you’re done pumping, their cylinders can be detached from the pump and remain on your chest until you’re ready to remove them.

  1. Vibrators

Vibrators aren’t just for vulvas or penises – you can use them on your nipples too! (Or anywhere else, for that matter. Although for anal use, make sure that vibe has a flared base!) There are vibrating nipple clamps, but you don’t have to fasten something to your nipples to enjoy thuddy or buzzy waves of stimulation.

Pinpoint vibrators (that is, vibes with a narrow tip) are ideal because they allow you to be very precise about where you’re applying sensation. If your nipples are very sensitive (or you’d like something less targeted to warm up), using a wider vibrator like a g-spot vibe can be a wonderful broad massage.

The Lush Juna is a pinpoint vibrator with multiple, differently-textured tips. This offers two kinds of sensation in one! Similarly, the “flapping” attachment for the Noje Mini Wand can add a harsh flutter that feels like constant flicking. The Je Joue Rabbit Ear Bullet is another pinpoint vibe, but it has “bunny” ears that can hug around your nipple.

  1. Nipple Suckers

Enjoy suction or pressure, but don’t like extra effort of managing a pump? Nipple suckers like the Blush Large Twisters or Oxballs Hognips might be more appealing. Some suckers (like the Black Maxx Twists) have twisting mechanisms to create suction; others are simple squeeze bulbs. These are often hands-off toys, because after they’re suctioned into place, they stay there until you pop them free.

If you don’t enjoy continuous stimulation, nipple suckers are a way to passively toy with your nipples without constant sucking, rubbing, etc.

  1. Air Pulsation

Popularized by Satisfyer and Womanizer, air pulsation toys create a fluttery, suction-like sensations using air. Air pulsation toys have nozzles to envelope the user’s clitoris, but they can just as easily be applied to a nipple. The stimulation is touchless, so it’s great for folks who enjoy the feeling of pumping, sucking, or nibbling teeth, but don’t want the actual friction.

What toy model will work best for you depends on your nipple size. Air pulsation toys with deeper and wider “mouths” like the Satisfyer Pro 2 are probably ideal for most users. But if your nipples are small, the We-Vibe Melt or Vedo Suki can offer more targeted titillation.

  1. Pinwheels

From Things You Can Do With a Tied up Partner: “Pinwheels are one of my favorite foreplay tools. The original Wartenberg wheel was a medical device designed to test nerve sensitivity. They look painful, but they’re not! Pinwheels are actually just light pressure toys. They usually feel like a cross between fingernails and firmly pressed fingertips.”

The Kink Spike Pinwheel can be rolled all over the chest to build up anticipation. You can then move it over your nipples, gently but effectively prickling them with sensation.

  1. Clamps

These are likely the first thing you thought of when you read the title! Nipple clamps are like a firm pinch – except that pinch doesn’t relent until you remove them. When you do, blood and sensation rushes back, and you’re left with throbbing, ultra-sensitive nipples.

There are many different styles of nipple clamp. The most visually obvious difference is the grippling mechanisms, from “alligator” clamps that use a spring, to “tweezer” clamps that tighten via a sliding grip; there are over a dozen configurations, and each offers a different level of pressure. Some have silicone, rubber, or plastic tips. Some vibrate, have decoration to pretty up the wearer, or feathers for an extra tickle. Some even tighten if you struggle

  1. Paddles

Paddles are best suited for folks who want to incorporate more of their chest into their pain play, rather than just their nipples. Paddles offer broad-faced, thuddy strikes, which can make your skin flushed and tender. For many, it’s a great form of foreplay, because you can take full advantage of the extra-sensitive skin afterward.

Paddles like the Sportsheets Leather Paddle with Fur or Shots Two Sided Luxury Paddle add an extra layer of sensation. The Sportsheets Paddle with Fur has faux fur that can be drawn over one’s chest to tickle and soothe the skin, making subsequent strikes more jarring. The Luxury Paddle has a textured side that can be petted and stroked.

Just keep in mind that your heart, lungs, and ribcage make this area less safe for rough play than your butt or thighs. Keep your strikes light, and never strike directly over the heart.

  1. Sex Play Candles
“The Temptasia Fox Drip Candle is a gentle, beginner-friendly sex candle. It scores serious cuteness points, but more importantly it’s easy to light, easy to hold, and the wax is super mild,” writes Things You Can Do With a Tied up Partner. Wax can be dripped all over the chest, particularly the nipples. “Each drip stings hot for an instant, but then immediately cools to the same soft warmth as a kiss to your skin. The sensation fades completely as the wax turns firm again. It doesn’t harden and pinch like other waxes we’ve tried.”
